“I was a BlueRio Institute student for the Life Map Coaching course aimed toward veterans/service members and their families. I was looking for a course that would educate me on what it means to be a coach but also challenge me to really act like a coach. Jessi’s course exceeded all of my expectations. She had well-articulated outcomes and explanations on what her courses offer and how they meet high standards expected in the coaching world. Nonetheless, I was so nervous about investing money into a coaching course. Wow, I had nothing to worry about. I graduated with so much confidence about who I am and the skills and strengths I have to serve as a coach….Most interestingly, I recognized that some of the coaching training I had received prior to this course lacked in some critical areas to prepare me fully. Jessi really showed me what it means to coach AND had the data and research to verify it.
BlueRio Institute is an absolutely incredible resource for practitioners seeking BCC approved training, continuing education credits, or overall improved competence in coaching. I’ve participated in coaching programs facilitated through large national organizations, and while they are useful for base-level theory explanation, I left them feeling like I spent a lot of money on experiences that didn’t quite teach “how to” coach effectively. They would cover lots of psychology and coaching literature, but the examples were always limited to “best-case scenario” situations and there was little direction on practical coaching skills, like breaking a client caught in a spiral, dealing with a client in a negative mindset, keeping a client focused in a session, or making a referral to external services. These were the things I wanted from a coaching program, so after I finished my last large national training, I enrolled in one of Jessi’s coaching certification programs – and it was EXACTLY what I was looking for! …..Jessi’s program was by far one of the best professional development investments I have made, and I am a much better, more confident coach because I participated in the BlueRio Institute certification program. I have recommended the Blue Rio programs to many colleagues and, if I could, I would require a BlueRio certification for all advising or coaching staff in my office. Jessi teaches you “how to” coach better and “how to” think about coaching differently to improve your skills. I’ve never met another facilitator more invested in their students’ success and development. She is responsive, thorough, supportive, and inquisitive – all things one would love to have in a coach supervisor. I look forward to participating in more of Jessi’s programs in the future, and I highly recommend the BlueRio Institutes courses to any career services practitioners or other coaches looking to grow and improve their skills. “Jessi LaCosta’s teaching style reflects her experiences through engaging students and those interested in diving deeper into their understanding of coaching. She has an array of methods to meet the needs of coaches and would-be coaches by honing into their needs and interests and supplying even more information in that area.”
“With a wide background and interest in multicultural experiences, Jessi supports participants with encouragement, unafraid to share experiences that may expand their perspective while bringing compassion to the experience. I have had several opportunities to study with Jessi’s guidance and even as a licensed counselor and a board certified coach, I find her style inviting and supportive for my own growth. We continue to learn when we open our selves to the opportunities. Don’t miss it!”

I am BEYOND delighted with the BlueRio coaching course! It was much more than I ever expected. As a therapist, I didn’t understand all the nuances and distinctions between therapy and coaching. I now feel prepared to launch my coaching practice, including the ready-made tools and contracts so generously included. Highly recommended! – Connie Lawrence, LISW-S, PAT, CLMC,
“Jessi LaCosta puts her heart and soul into creating excellent online classes! Take her classes. You will not be disappointed! Here is a thank you I sent to her after the course completion. “I want to send you a heart-felt thanks for helping create community in our class. It was a pleasure to be involved with such a great group of people. You truly channel the ideas and energy of your passion for teaching Resilience and IPNB to all of us to do great things with the ideas and concepts we learn. There is so much great course material to digest (in a good way) – many thought provoking ideas generated, and such a great sense of community in which we could share our ideas and thoughts about the course material.” Kat P. Portland, Oregon
“Classes from BlueRio offer a huge selection of learning methodologies so one can learn according to one’s personal strengths of information processing. It is very clear that Jessi LaCosta researches the best and most current information possible to offer us the most up to date data possible, she is active in the discussion boards, and offers great insight/insightful questions to facilitate even deeper exploration. This [Survive & Thrive] is my second course, and I will be taking another. For those who love to learn, then share that learning, these courses are great values! Thank you Jessi for your hard work and your dedication to bettering us and our clients and our world.” Jeanmarie Reynolds, LPC, BCC
I had the great good fortune to participate in the Coaching Through Acceptance training program. In a very crowded marketplace, this course stands out on a number of levels. Firstly, and most importantly, all participants are afforded respect and a genuine interest in their presence. Secondly, there was a plethora of resource materials over a number of media from written papers to videos to original material from Jessi LaCosta. Thirdly, there was an open opportunity for the sharing of ideas between the participants in message boards. For those interested in moving beyond the commonplace and discovering not only the techniques, but the heart of coaching, then I recommend this program.
As a neuropsychotherapist, I am pleased to see that the neuroscience component in this program was well set out and accessible even to those still developing a familiarity. I feel very strongly that any practitioner dealing with emotions and behavior needs to understand something about the brain and the mind. Jessi LaCosta introduces participants to Interpersonal Neurobiology which is fundamental to helping us work with other people. My confidence in IPNB is evidenced in that I regularly travel half way around the world to study and teach IPNB…. There is plenty of depth in the resources for those more experienced. That is what I like about the course materials – they cater for a variety of levels of expertise and experience.
The most important thing in any engagement with people is that the channels of communication are open and safe. This is a central element of the Coaching Through Acceptance program. A forum is active throughout the course and beyond. Richard Hill, MA, MEd, MBMSc, DPC www.richardhill.com.au & Co- Board President of GAINS (Global Association for Interpersonal Neurobiology Studies)
“The Survive and Thrive Course provides a rich opportunity to learn and stay abreast of current knowledge of the psychology of and coaching insights in this critically important area of successful life/work management. I was impressed with the variety of informative content that includes videos from leading professionals in the field, recent and relevant research, Jessie’s experience-based and heart-felt presentations, and the opportunity to further the learning by interacting with other professionals in the field. The portal was easy to use and a convenient way to access content around my schedule. I highly recommend the course for anyone interested in learning more about and developing their insights and competencies for surviving and thriving in today’s fast paced and rapidly changing world.” David Borchard, Ed.D., BCC Executive and Life Transition coach
